Peace Laguna Resort Krabi Review
Peace Laguna Resort is not a lively hotel so if your looking for a bit of peace and quiet away from the noise then this hotel is for you.
The hotel itself is a 3 star as there is no spa or fitness center but it is comfortable though not luxurious.
Be forewarned: some of the hotel's rooms are a little tired looking -currently undergoing upgrading works.
Peace Laguna Resort Krabi's location
Peace Laguna Resort is five minutes walk to the beach and there are lots of shops including Mcdonald's,convenience stores, pubs and restaurants.
Tucked away down a side street away from the crowded main street, noise and traffic.
What so unique about Peace Laguna Resort Krabi?
The resort is quiet and framed by spectacular limestone cliff; really gorgeous.
It is very nicely located – in the heart of Ao Nang but you would not know it because it's very secluded. Easy access to beach and all the restaurants/tours in Ao Nang.

There are wireless connection and you can hire a DVD player for 300 Baht a night. Peace Laguna Resort is currently adding a mini theatre, spa and fitness centre and a library.
Peace Laguna Resort Krabi swimming pools
There are three swimming pools with children's area and they are always clean.
There are plenty of sun decks to go around but look out for those who use their towel to reserve them.
Peace Laguna Resort Krabi restaurants
You should not find it necessary to eat at the resort restaurant as there are so many cheap and accessible restaurants outside within walking distance.

There are 5 types of accommodation in Peace Laguna Resort.
Standard Room
The standard rooms (36 sq meter) are situated in a block complex. The block accommodation is very basic but serves the purpose for a cheap short stay.

Do not be deceived by the pictures above, the standard room need some serious refurbishment. Although it has well-functioning air-condition and good water pressure, it is highly recommended to opt for rooms (superior) in those new buildings which are spacious, modern and of very high standard.
Superior Room (new superior block)
The new addition superior complex features low rise units with common walls. The back section has a lift and is four storey high and the front section had no lift but has only 3 storey.
Ask to be put on the 4th floor as these rooms (53-59 sq meter) have the best views of the lime stone cliffs.
contemporary minimalist concept
Deluxe / Superior cottage
Deluxe Cottage refers to the top level of the cottages and Superior Cottage is located on the ground floor.
The rooms are large, approximately 70 sq.meter. The beds are firm or a bit "rock" hard, some of you may find the beds to be uncomfortable.
The bathroom had a large double jacuzzi big enough for two person.

Open-air "Balinese-style" outdoor showers which looked fabulous. Note that outdoor shower does not have hot water, which takes a little getting used to.

Private cottage
Private cottage is a detached cottage by itself. The room is huge and very modern. The view from the balcony is surrounded with lots of lush greenery.

You get to have a balcony and verandah with tables and sun loungers, overlooking the lagoon.

Peace Laguna Resort seem to be run by very young staff. Do not expect them to speak fluent English Have to be understanding this is Thailand
Michael, the Manager spoke perfect English and is a very helpful nice guy indeed.
Friendly staff that always greet you with a smile every morning.

Biggest gripe:
- worn out grey towels
- breakfast is a bit bland for a resort. While there was a reasonable range of options on the Western style buffet menu, you have to compete with the insects as there are no proper cover
- standard rooms in the main building should be given a makeover. They look jaded and as if frozen since the 1980s.

Special tips:
- Private Cottage. If you can ask for cottages 1106, 1107, 1108 or 1109 - these are in the middle of the resort and within a few steps of the best pool.
- room 2209: fantastic view of the mountain while showering and also from the front door
- Book the new superior room in the front block so that you can view the stunning karst-limestone mountain which separates AoNang from Railey
- drinks are pricey so it's better to pick up some beers or pre-mixed drinks from one of the many 7-11 convenience stores in the main street and store them in your fridge.
Is Peace Laguna Resort Krabi worth booking?
Certainly not the five-star luxury resorts you would expect, but simply good enough for a 2-3 day short stay.
Summary of pros :
- you will never experience any crowds
- plenty of room and sunbeds to choose from
Cons:
- should pay more attention to the customer requests

Elderly couples as you have to climb stairs to your room
