Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort is a five star idyllic beachfront retreat, set on a private sandy beach (Klong Muang beach) with lots of landscaped greenery and space - the lawns between the pools and the beach create a very open feel and the hammocks in the trees are inviting for an afternoon of slumber.
If you want to spend your vacation relaxing, unwind and enjoy some quiet time, Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort may be what you are looking for.
If you want to be in the middle of nightlife action scene and shopping, you may have to look elsewhere such as Ao Nang beach.
Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort's location
Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort's location is quite isolated; far enough away from Ao Nang beach to be quiet and peaceful, but near enough for a visit to nightlife and plenty of bars and restaurants (10 minutes by taxi).
The resort has its own private beach which is beautiful and has soft sand and clear water. There are also sun loungers positioned on the private sandy beach front.

There is not much activity to do outside of the resort; only a small shopping center just outside the resort with few restaurants and some sleepy stores.
Ao Nang is the closest town and offers shopping and restaurants.
Ao Nang town is just a 15-20 minute shuttle bus journey.
The resort provide shuttle service to Ao Nang (chargable) at scheduled times of the day, hotel bus to central Krabi is 200baht round trip or a taxi ride costs about 400 baht each way.

They have 2 beautiful infinity pools with plenty of sunbeds around them. You can enjoying a cool splash at the beach in the afternoon too.

The pools are great, in particular the large pool is nicely designed with lots of seating with shade to both relax and swim or play with the kids. The pools are also children friendly which is not too deep.
The infinity pool made you feel like you are on the edge of the ocean when you swam up to the edge as it looks straight onto the beach.

The bar in the pool is great and you can drink a cocktail while soaking up the natural surroundings.

There are three restaurants at the hotel, all serving excellent food with very good service.
- Malati Restaurant
At the Malati Restaurant which serve Thai and Indian Food their seafood dishes - cooked in Thai-Style are excellent. The sticky rice with mango is a must try in this restaurant.
- Mangosteens is the buffet restaurant that has various buffet events in the evening priced at around 750 baht a person. Pad Thai and green curry at Mangosteens restaurant are the best in Thailand.
- Gecko's
The resort's signature restaurant Gecko's features fine Mediterranean cuisine, wood fired pizza oven and you can sit outside and again admire the views of the beach.
Recommended restaurants outside Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort
A 'Swiss Guy' owned restaurant (turn right out of the main gate, and it is 100 metres on the left side) was a definite winner real authentic Thai food, just amazing.
Outside the resort, literally across the road is a real nice restaurant called the Terrace, which offers a wide menu and is cheap!

The Deck is poolside bar under the umbrellas and coconut palms. It tends to be the local bar by day where you can order lunch at The Deck. The food is great – the local fish with mango salad was the best.

You must try the Martini at the Martini's Bar. Cocktails are served with the accompany of a guy playing the piano.
Coco Vida is set among the palm trees overlooking the hotel’s pools and beach, Coco Vida is the hub for live bands and entertainment.

There are gym facilities, tennis court, table tennis couts in the fitness center for the healthy conscious. Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort fitness center opens 24 hours which is very thoughtful.

The staff at the beach sport hut are very helpful and friendly. You can rent kayaks, sailed the hobbycat and even take up windsurfing lesson. Diving course are also available.

The rooms are of good quality but do not expect any sea-views from a Ocean facing room. The rooms are in 3-storey buildings which are a short walk away from the beach.

Superior Rooms are all located on the first and second floor, Deluxe Rooms are on the third floor. All rooms have a private terrace or balcony, the only difference is the price depending on the floor level.
Almost all of the rooms have views of the gardens and mangrove forest but not the beach or the sea. The hotel grounds are kept immaculate and the beach nice and tidy.
The room was cleaned not once but twice a day and the cleaning staff's attention to detail was second to none as they even prepared the bed for you in the evenings and changed the towels twice a day.

There are altogether 246 comfortable guest rooms, including 30 Zen rooms and 6 Executive suites Zen rooms (larger bathrooms with separate bath & Shower).
Make sure you ask for the Ocean Facing Premium Rooms that offer the ocean view across the mangrove landscape and swimming pool although the rooms are not so near to the sea to hear the sound of the waves.
Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort may offer Starwood Preferred Guests platinum member upgrades to Building E, which has considerably better views and easier access to the main lobby and restaurant.

Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort Service Standard
Check-in to Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort was stress free. We were very impressed with the warmth and hospitality, the polite and friendly room maids and their charming and smiling staff welcoming you every morning at breakfast.
However the true measure of a hotel is how they react when things get a little sticky. As the Bangkok airports were closed during the 8 day protests, Sheraton Krabi staff were very helpful and doing their best in keeping stranded travelers updated. The management even gave stranded travelers steeply discounted room rate including food.
Worth complimenting are Vicki and the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort staff on how well they've handled this situation.

Special tips:
- For your wedding anniversary, the management can make special arrangements such as
rose petals on the bed and bottle of champagne
- The shuttle bus service from the hotel to Ao Nang is good as the bus times are regular and cheaper than getting a taxi
- The hotel charges more if you book directly to them, so try to go outside and check out travel agencies out there, they can give you much discount at the same tour (the same tour operator) that the hotel offers
- a walk on the beach by sunset is highly recommended;
the views of the sunsets from this area of the resort are spectacular - 6.00pm each evening
- try to avoid Block A,B,C and D. Opt for Block E,F,G and J which have an open garden view.
Is Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort worth paying?
Perfect for those who want to enjoy a relaxing and romantic getaway. For those who like to spend around their time in the resort vicinity and a lot of time relaxing around the pool.
Everything from service, rooms, hotel are just perfect. Comfortable and plentiful sunloungers on the beach and the pool area means you never feel crowded.
Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort deserves the premium price that you are paying in exchange for the tranquility and calmness of the surroundings.
Recommended for:
for a couple wanting a private few days away, honeymoon couples, family with young children
children's menu available at all the restaurants. the mini baby Johnson & Johnson products in the room, free of charge milk for the babies, the child friendly cutlery and the kids club
